Janette McBride
Meet the cast! @mcbride.janette is a proud Filipina-Australian who has been performing since she took drama and dance classes as a kid. In the early 2000s, she had the unique experience of being in commercials, TV shows, and films in the Philippines. There, she was trained by veteran directors and worked alongside talented celebrities. She won awards for Best New Actress and Most Promising New Performer, and was nominated for Best Female Talk Show Host.
Janette has been performing improv comedy in Brisbane since 2015. She teaches and produces shows, including Brisbane’s only improvised multicultural show, Wer Ya From.
In 2022, Janette co-founded Pasiones, an edgy, sultry, and hilarious improvised telenovela. In 2023, she taught a villain workshop in the Manila Improv Festival and performed in two shows she co-created, Ang Boypren Kong Puti (My White Boyfriend) and Laos and Found (Washed Up and Found). Also in 2023, she taught a cultural improv workshop and performed in the Improv Theatre Sydney Comedy Festival, and completed an acting course with NIDA.
